The Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) is pleased to invite you to an exclusive seminar followed by a dinner: "What future for Europe? A conversation with Enrico Letta". The event will take place on Saturday, 25th April 2026, from 18:30 to 22:00, at Ritz-Carlton, Pudong, in Shanghai.

About Enrico Letta, President of the IE School of Politics Economics and Global Affairs at IE University, and former Prime Minister of Italy

Enrico Letta is the Dean of the IE School of Politics, Economics, and Global Affairs at IE University. He is an expert on the political dealings of the EU and its navigation of the financial crisis.

Today, he is the President of the Jacques Delors Institute. In September 2023 he received a mandate from the European institutions to elaborate a High-Level Report on the future of the Single Market. On April 17, 2024, Enrico Letta published a report titled "Much more than a market", advocating for significant reforms to empower the EU Single Market. The report proposed key changes to enhance digital integration and trade fairness, emphasizing the Single Market's potential to drive sustainable future and prosperity for all EU citizens.

Enrico Letta served as Prime Minister of Italy in 2013-2014 and as leader of the Italian Democratic Party in 2021-2023.

Before becoming Prime Minister he served as Minister for EU Affairs (1998-1999), as Minister for Industry, Commerce and Crafts (January-April 2000, during the second D'Alema Government), as Minister for Industry, Commerce and Crafts and Foreign Trade (2000-2001, during the second Amato Government) and as Undersecretary of State to the Prime Minister of the government led by Romano Prodi from 2006 to 2008.

Between 2001 and 2015 Enrico Letta was Member of the Italian Parliament, excluding between 2004 and 2006 when he was Member of the European Parliament. He also served as deputy Secretary of the Democratic Party (PD) from 2009 to 2013.

From 1993 to May 2013 Letta managed an independent think tank, Arel, founded by the late Beniamino Andreatta. He was also Vice Chairman of Aspen Institute Italia, President of the Italy-Spain Dialogue Forum, and a member of the Trilateral Commission.

Enrico Letta was born in Pisa (Tuscany) and he spent the first years of his life in Strasbourg. He graduated in International Law at the University of Pisa and obtained a PhD in European Union Law at the School for Advanced Studies "Sant'Anna" of Pisa.

He is a financier, a Senior Economist, the former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Finance of China, and the former President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

In 2016, he became the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. In July 2020, he was re-elected as President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. In January 2026, he stepped down from the position of President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

Before being elected as the Bank's first President, he served as Secretary-General of the Multilateral Interim Secretariat tasked with establishing the Bank. Jin has rich experience across the private and public sectors and with MDBs. He served as Chair of China International Capital Corporation Limited (China's first joint-venture investment bank), Chair of the Supervisory Board of China Investment Corporation and Chair of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds. He previously served as Vice President and then Ranking Vice President of the Asian Development Bank and as Alternate Executive Director for China at the World Bank and at the Global Environment Facility.

Jin spent nearly two decades at the Chinese Ministry of Finance, reaching the rank of Vice Minister. He holds a master's degree in English Literature from Beijing Institute of Foreign Languages (now Beijing Foreign Studies University) and was a Hubert Humphrey Fellow in the Economics Graduate Program at Boston University from 1987 to 1988. Jin is from the People's Republic of China.
