The Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC) is pleased to invite you to an exclusive talk "Getting China Right – A conversation with Massimo D'Alema", whichwill take place on Friday, 6th November, 2026 starting from 18:00 at Bella Vita Bistrò in Shanghai.

Why Participate?

Attending this exclusive conversation offers a unique opportunity to engage with Massimo D'Alema, one of the most experienced Italian statesmen in relations with China, in a high-level setting in central Shanghai.

Built on his experience as Former Prime Minister and Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and decades of direct engagement with China, D'Alema will offer a distinctive perspective on how Italy and Europe have often misread China's transformation and how a clearer understanding of the Country's evolving landscape can strengthen Italian companies' position in the market and possibilities for growth.

The discussion will explore four key themes:

  • Half a Century of Watching China: From the China D'Alema first encountered to the China of today - what has really changed, and what the West has consistently misread.
  • A World Order in Transition: The end of the old international order, the rise of the Global South, and China's place in what comes next.
  • Europe Between Washington and Beijing: Can Europe have its own China policy, and what role can Italy play?
  • From Understanding to Business: What all of this means for Italian companies in China, and how to read the next five years.

DESPITE CCIC COMMUNICATION FOR THE EVENT PROMO IS IN ENGLISH AS USUAL, FOR THIS TIME THE EVENT WILL BE HELD IN ITALIAN.
