Italian Culture Day at Museum of Wu

The China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC) is pleased to invite you to join the Italian Culture Day and visit the exhibition "Etruscans-Lords of Ancient Italy "exhibition on September 17th 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Museum of Wu, Suzhou. During the event, the Museum of Wu will provide free interpretation services. The Museum of Wu will provide free interpretation services for this event.

The Etruscans were an ancient population of Italy. They were a lively, wise, passionate, romantic people, who knew how to enjoy good food and good wine, who delighted in songs and dances, who loved refined art. Gold and jewels, fine sculptures, beautifully painted ceramics, funerary objects of different materials and shapes, testify to the splendors of what was the ancient Etruscan civilization, a civilization that influenced the Roman religion, culture and form of government and had a profound impact on the subsequent development of Western civilization.

伊特鲁里亚人，是一个生机勃勃、懂得享受生活的民族，一个智慧、热情、自由而浪漫的民族，他们崇尚美食、喜饮美酒，热爱歌舞和优雅艺术，有着美丽的田园情怀；精巧的金器及饰品、栩栩如生的雕塑、彩绘精美的陶器，材质多样而又形态各异的葬具，无不展示着伊特鲁里亚人所创造的，光彩夺目、建立于独特生活意识基础上的古文明。它影响了罗马的宗教、文化、政体形式，其至对后世的西方文明都产生了深远影响。

The exhibition is promoted by the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai and by the Italian Cultural Institute of Shanghai. An important page in the history of Italy is brought to China. Thanks to more than 300 artifacts of great historical and artistic value from the Civic Archaeological Museum of Bologna and from the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, the exhibition accompanies us in the daily life and culture of the Etruscan people: from women's to men's costumes, from eating habits to writing and worship. 'Etruscans. Lords of Ancient Italy' is curated by the Civic Archaeological Museum of Bologna and organized by MondoMostre.
