The end of 2025 marked a significant milestone with the publication of the new Draft Amendment to the Trademark Law—a development that has captured the attention of the IP community within China and internationally, underscoring China's central role in the global trademark landscape.
While the draft reform will be a central focus of the seminar, it is only one element of a broader transformation that has characterized China's intellectual property system and reshaped the trademark environment in recent years. Key developments include an increasing emphasis on quality within China's IP system, the continued internationalization of Chinese brands and IP strategies, stronger enforcement mechanisms and higher levels of damages in infringement cases, as well as the consolidation and growing influence of leading domestic rights holders.
